General rules
We do our best to make the festival the greatest experience for you. But there are a few things you can do yourselves to make the weekend unforgettable in a positive way.
- Our security team is on site all the time. Please get in touch with them if you or your friends have a problem or need help.
- Please follow their instructions any time.
Gigs
- The security up front do a sterling job most of the time, but, with an over excited crowd, their job is very difficult. Please keep an eye out for all the people around you. Keep your wits about you at all times, and keep an eye on those people close to you, if they need help, help them straight away, you would expect the same.
- Crowd surfing can lead to serious injuries. It’s forbidden at the OpenAir St.Gallen.
Camping
- Please pitch your tent in the designated areas. Otherwise, it’ll be torn down.
- Designed emergency exits have to be kept free.
- Be careful with fire! Don’t leave a fire or a torch unsupervised.
- Fireworks or other pyrotechnic articles are dangerous if they are handled improperly. It’s not allowed to bring anything like that to the festival area.
Thievery prevention
- Only bring essential items and leave most of your valuables (camera, Ipod, money, credit cards etc.) at home.
- Don’t leave anything of value in your tent. Take it always with you.
Health
- Drink responsibly!
- Try alternating soft drinks or water for alcoholic ones. Free drinking water is available at the water point next to the toilet area in the middle of the festival area.
- Food helps absorb alcohol and limits how quickly it gets into your bloodstream, so it’s a good idea to have a bite to eat before or while you are drinking alcohol.
- Protect your ears. You can get ear plugs for free at several bars and at the information counter. They also will be sampled in the concert area before shows.
- Look after yourself and your mates. Give a hand if somebody needs help. And get in contact with a member of the festival staff.
- Be aware of the sun. Bring a sun hat and sun glasses and don’t forget the sun cream.
Minors/alcohol
- We don’t sell alcoholic drinks to people under 16. You have to be 18 to buy booze or hard liquor at the festival (as everywhere in Switzerland).
- Minors who are picked up highly drunk are sent off the festival. We reserve the right to contact your parents.
Banned and allowed items
- It’s not allowed to bring glass, cans, fireworks, weapons or other dangerous items.
- Leave your sofa and other big items at home.
- Dry ice is not allowed.
- It’s not allowed to bring a gas camping stove or any other gas-filled items.
- You are allowed to make an open fire. Don’t ever leave it unsupervised.
- Fireworks or other pyrotechnic articles are dangerous if they are handled improperly. It’s not allowed to bring anything like that to the festival area.
- You’re not allowed to bring more than 3 litres of drinks into the festival area (incl. camping area).
- Please remember drugs are as illegal at the OpenAir St.Gallen as they are anywhere else
We don’t store the items we have to take away from you. So just don’t bring them in the first place.
